September Brings a New Fall Chapter

I gotta admit, I’m kinda at a loss for words this month on how to begin the newsletter.

I typically would include things about the upcoming football season, that first day of school, college beginning, or about all the huge family vacations or get-togethers over the past summer. But, things seem different right now, because they are. Everything has a question mark!

So instead, I will offer something I came across that I found rather profound. Something that may challenge your senses, or at the very least, give you some time in thought. “Do not pray for an easy life. Pray for the strength to endure a difficult one.”

Some Truths Through Life's Journey

Life is not easy

It is not. Don’t try to make it that way. Life is not fair…it never was and never will be. Don’t fall into the entitlement trap of feeling like you are a victim, because you are not. Get over it and get on with it. Most things are more rewarding when you break a sweat to get them.

Unbelievable is the stupidest word in the dictionary

It may be spectacular or outstanding, but it is not unbelievable. Give yourself and others more credit. It just happened, you did it, you saw it. It is believable. It just happens and it happens every day. The one thing you can always rely on is that people will be people, so don’t be surprised by what people can do.

Happiness is an emotional response to an outcome

Joy on the other hand is not a choice. It is not a result. It is a constant and comes from what we are fashioned to do…no matter the outcome. Doing what you enjoy will create joy for you.

Define success for yourself

What does success mean to you? Is it more money? Helping others? A healthy family? To be spiritually sound?

Everyone wants to leave the world a little bit better then how they found it. Your answer may change over time, but whatever your answer is, don’t do anything that will jeopardize your soul.

Prioritize who you are, who you want to be, and don’t spend time on anything that antagonizes your character.

Don’t leave crumbs

The choices you make that makes you look over your shoulder in the future…regret, guilt, and remorse.

If you leave crumbs today, it will cause you more stress tomorrow and prevent you from creating your customized future. Instead of creating outcomes that take from us, create outcomes that pay it forward.

It’s time to grab that beer (because I’m in a beer mood) and gather around for this month’s fireside chat.

First, this month's rundown:

  • Prime Rib nights will be on Friday, September 4 and 18.
  • Fresh Catch features will be Friday, September 11

Seafood Dinner - Friday, Saturday 25 (click to see options)

The last event of the month has easily become one of the Clubs special nights every 3 months that many look forward to enjoying. Our quarterly Seafood Buffet, now the Willow Bend Seafood Dinner.

Following all the new guidelines that we have put into place, this will still be the same great experience. We just need to ensure we do this safely in this new world with new procedures.

Lastly…the Clubhouse will be closed for private events:

  • Saturday, September 19
  • Saturday, September 26

Other than that, it is business as usual, and we hope that you will join us whenever you can.

As always, thanks for all your support. We couldn’t do what we do without each and every one of you.

Take care, be safe, and may the road rise to meet you.

See you at the Club!

Rob
