Come on, come on get your good time on! Summer is here so let the pool parties and camping trips begin! The warm days and long summer evenings are a wonderful reminder that all is right with the world. It’s always great to get outside and enjoy the summertime activities. The only downside of summer is mowing the lawn every week, and once you start, it’s an ongoing chore! Man or woman versus Mother Nature…good luck to ya!
Fortunately this year, we are preparing to attend the National Restaurant Association Food Show in Chicago. This is always a great opportunity to get outside the four walls of the Club and see many different ideas and new technologies in the industry.
It also gives Chef and I the chance to review different items in the marketplace, to observe new trends, and examine the quality of products we may consider bringing into the Club and to YOU, our valued members. Partnering with our vendors to be able to use resourceful supplies is one of the many things that we feel separates us from other establishments and puts us a cut-above the competition.
The last show we attended left us feeling really good about where we are and what we try to bring to the table in everything we do. For example, the organic items from our fresh seafood, to our CAB brand beef, the natural free-range chicken that contain no preservatives, and the use of fresh homegrown herbs in all of our recipes. By offering dishes that bring you many different flavorful experiences from around the globe right here in Van Wert, Ohio, gives us a sense of pride to say, “We are well ahead of the curve,” and we look forward to bringing you much, much more!
Grab that glass of wine or ice cold beer and crash in your favorite chair on the patio – it’s time for June’s update.
This month’s Prime Rib Nights will be on Friday, June 1, 15, and 29. On these evenings, we are breaking out the grill – after all it’s finally grilling season! Our Prime Rib tastes great grilled and smoked, especially after it has been slow roasted.
This month’s Fresh Catch Night will be Friday, June 8. The summer season brings us the opportunity to obtain a lot of different fresh catch items. Aloha Paul calls me on Thursday mornings from Hawaii as he is walking the docks checking on which items just came in from the boats, so let me know any ideas you have about what to ask for. Remember, caught, bought, packed, and shipped within 24 hours.
The only Sunday Brunch this month will be combined with Father’s Day on June 17, so we could call it our BBQ Brunch of the summer! Bacon, eggs, ribeye steaks, and BBQ ribs sounds pretty good, right? Give Dad a day to relax, kickback, and enjoy some great food.
Lastly, our summer evening June “Party on the Patio” will be on Friday, June 29. It will be tied in with our Prime Rib cookout that evening. Hopefully, the weather will cooperate and we can have a nice evening outdoors with great food, excellent drinks, and even better company. It will give everyone the opportunity to sample the new drink menu with its many cocktail and wine selections. I hope to see many of you here that evening. It should be a nice little get together!
